Dear Heather
What if the key to changing the world starts with understanding ourselves?
Welcome to Dear Heather — the podcast where mental health meets consciousness, neuroscience meets spirituality, and raw human experience meets real solutions. Hosted by Heather, a mental health advocate, super feeler, and someone who has walked through the fire of depression, anxiety, and devastating loss, this show exists for one reason: to bring awareness to the things that are breaking us and start building what will actually heal us.
Each episode is a deep dive into the full spectrum of what it means to be human — from the neuroscience of rewiring your brain and the power of neuroplasticity to the mystery of angel numbers, synchronicity, and collective consciousness. From the epidemic of youth mental health and men’s mental health to the broken systems failing the people who need them most.
From quantum physics and Schumann resonance to the quiet, radical act of learning to love yourself.
This is not surface-level self-help. This is alchemy — transforming pain into purpose, suffering into awareness, and silence into conversation.
Here’s what you can expect: real interviews with mental health professionals, neuroscientists, healers, and everyday humans who have survived the darkest of days and found their way back to the light. Every episode carries an educational element — because understanding the root cause of our suffering is the first step to ending it. We confront what isn’t working — the healthcare systems, the stigma, the disconnection — and we start talking about what will.
Dear Heather was born from personal experience. Heather is one of five brothers’ sister who lost a brother to mental illness. She has navigated her own battles with depression and anxiety for most of her life. She knows what it feels like to carry the weight of the world because you can feel everything — and she turned that into a mission: if the suffering of others hurts you, then help dismantle what’s causing it.
Whether you are on a healing journey, seeking change, or simply curious about why the world feels the way it does right now, this podcast will meet you where you are. We explore the spiritual and the scientific — yoga, meditation, and frequency healing alongside trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and the psychology of empathy. We talk about the woo-woo and the clinical. The 5D and the everyday. The mystical and the deeply practical.
Because mental illness is an epidemic. And what we’ve been doing isn’t working. So let’s get to the root of it — together.
New episodes bring fresh perspectives on consciousness, self-awareness, personal growth, suicide prevention, neurodivergence, mindfulness, holistic wellness, and the radical power of human connection. Dear Heather is more than a podcast. It’s a movement — starting with Dear Neighbor and expanding into every corner where people are suffering in silence.
Subscribe now and join a community of super feelers, seekers, and change-makers who believe the world can be different. Because it can. And it starts with a conversation.
Let’s change the world one discussion at a time.

Hi guys, welcome back to this mini-series of Dear Heather, where I just kind of talk about what's on my chest and in my mind for the time being. No really structure to it, just me talking to you as my authentic self, which falls right in line on the topic today, which is how authenticity is the highest frequency. People that don't quite understand frequency. Well, I don't know what to tell you. I'm gonna do another section on that so I can get a little bit more into what frequency is because it's very powerful. Um, but authenticity again being the highest frequency, that frequency is higher than the frequency of love, which when I understood that and I studied that, it was kind of mind-blowing. Cause I always thought love was like the optimal authentic or the optimal frequency of what um you can carry with you. It's like the highest vibration. But when I read authenticity was really the highest frequency, I had to deep dive into what that means. And being authentic doesn't mean being kind all the time, being loving all the time, being what people expect of you all the time. Authenticity is everything that you embody and being true to yourself. Now, to be authentic, you have to have to have to know yourself. And what I discovered is a lot of people don't know who they are. The only reason why I discovered that in people is because once upon a time, not too long ago, I was one of those people. I did not even know I did not know myself. It took me one time, and I think I've talked about this on other episodes, I'm not sure, it all kind of blends. Is the fact that one day at home I was sitting on my couch and I'm looking around my living room, and I didn't even know why I designed my living room the way. It just wasn't really me. And then I started thinking about it, just kind of was an avalanche of thoughts of, oh my gosh, who am I decorating for? I'm decorating for my family on what they would feel comfortable or what they would think would look nice, on the guys I was dating, on what my son might have gone. But I never really asked myself, what do I want my place to be for me? And that kind of changed everything because then that snowballed into me questioning, well, why do I say yes to things I don't want to do? Why am I responding to texts that I don't want to respond to? Why am I doing the things that my gut doesn't feel good about doing, but I'm doing it anyways? And I completely halted that. Once I realized that I was doing that, I had to really look at myself and say, is this how you want to live for the remainder of the time knowing that you're doing this? Like, is life really fulfilling if you're appeasing everybody else? And deep down I knew no, because if I don't even know myself, then what am I even doing? I'm not making my own decisions. I'm making decisions based on what other people want me to do for them or with them or any of those sorts. And so again, that snowballed into me making decisions for myself. I don't care if you don't like my pink wall. I don't have any pink walls, but say, like I did. It shouldn't even matter. That's like I want to go into my house and feel like this is my like queendom. And um, it started there. And then again, it started building into saying no to the things I didn't want to do and putting boundaries up. Boundaries were a huge thing of getting to know who I was. Um, and that I lost a lot of people, and a lot of people really pushed back on me for that. Um, but it landed me in a place of really starting to get to know me. Like when I started making decisions based on like really going in and wondering, well, why does that bother me? Why do I not want to go to this, or why do I not want to see this person, or why do I not want to text this person back? And it was all really just I was learning myself and what I truly liked and what I truly didn't like. And once I started doing that, I started really getting into loving myself because then it just opened up other doors and then it just led into other things that I've been putting off. Like instead of putting this person first, I'm putting my goals and my aspirations and my everything that I want to do in the forefront of me moving forward in life, which led me to, and once I started doing that, things started falling into place. People started really gravitating towards me in general. And it could have been me saying or sticking up for myself and upsetting some people because authenticity, again, isn't just kindness, it isn't appeasing people, it is being authentic to your true self, your gut, your everything. And that could be, and you're gonna hear me say this so many times on these episodes, is that you have to embrace the good parts of you, the bad parts of you, the parts of you that are overwhelmed, the parts of you that are just shut down, the sad parts, like, and I always thought high frequency was embodying like all the good, right? No, if authenticity, authenticity is the highest frequency, that means that you're in your natural state at all times. Your natural state, we're human, we're we're here in my mind to feel all the emotions and to experience all those feelings and emotions. And so authenticity is also allowing yourself to love all those emotions, the good, the bad, like the ugly, the gross. Like there are things that I've done where I'm like, oh my God, I can't believe I did that. But then again, the universe, God, who whatever your divine inspiration is or belief is, gave you those um traits and characteristics for a reason. Like me, I can pop off. I'm a very reactionary person. I've since then calmed my nervous system because I'm changing as a human. I didn't, I didn't want that, but I also had to embrace that and not get down on myself for being imperfect. I always strive to be perfect. What is perfect, anyways? Like that's such bullshit. Perfect is boring. We've all heard that, and it's the truth. Like, no one wants that, it doesn't feel right. Have you ever been around somebody just like always just so perfect and put together? It doesn't seem authentic, it doesn't seem genuine. Now, there are some sweet people that are just that is really who they are, but they are far and few between. And I've met a few people like that. My mom is one of them. But she, I mean, she's probably had her day or two, maybe throughout life. Um, so when I started embracing even the darker parts of me, that was true authenticity. It was coming to the table, fully embracing what I was going through at that time. Um, and that's when everything kind of cracked open for me of just loving myself no matter what. And I have hard days. Like, trust me, there are days where I'm like, man, I could do this better. I wish I was this, I wish I could be 20 pounds light. Like, it could be anything, it could be anything. It could be how I carry myself on this podcast and wishing I could have done it better or differently. But you guys, life doesn't work like that. It's not linear, it is up, down, it's all around. And as soon as you realize that, the more you're gonna give grace to yourself of like going with the flow of life, that is authenticity. And then I did a social post, I want to say a couple months back, and it was talking about how women we all talk about this. I've talked about this with different groups of women throughout my lifetime. And it's when you have a last minute plan to go out and you just throw on like sweats, you put your hair up, you don't put makeup on, and then that's the time you're going to get hit on the most because you're not performative. You are coming into a space totally comfortable, totally fine, without expectations, without needing the attention, without needing any of that, and you're just showing up as yourself without any outside influence. That is authenticity, just going there, and people can feel that. That is like vibrating from your body. So women always say this: why am I getting hit on when, oh my gosh, I have no makeup on. I'm wearing a t-shirt from like that isn't even clean, and I have a hole in my pants. Like, well, because you're being you. Like, it isn't brain, like it isn't something that is uncomprehendable. Like, if you have to be completely open to the fact that if you're just you and not performative, that it might actually be the most beautiful thing about you. And I'm not saying, trust me, I don't think that you should be going out with your hair in a mess and like totally disheveled if to get attention and look authentic. You just have to do what you're feeling. Basically, just honor what you're feeling, exactly how you're feeling it. If you want to get all dulled up and that's the state of mind that you're in, and you feel good and you feel like you're gonna carry yourself exactly how you're meant to carry yourself, that's authentic too. But don't just try to take the performance out of it. Performance is unattractive. People can feel it a mile away, even if they realize it or not. It could be a very subconscious thing. Um, and I hope men, I think men are better at this because men just are so logical thinking, and women, I think I do think women are more performative when it comes to the way we dress and the way we carry ourselves and what we should say and what we shouldn't say, and how we should be kind or how we should be sweet or any of those things. And men, you can be performative in a different way of like coming to the table with I make this mount, this is the car I drive, this is da-da-da-da-da. You don't need any of those things. Just be you. Love yourself because that is gonna be the most attractive thing, honestly. So do the hard work, learn who you are, face that uncomfortable feeling of making decisions for yourself, and that's gonna get you closer to being authentic. That's gonna get you closer to knowing who you are. But you can't be authentic if you don't know yourself. You can't know yourself unless you go through the hard shit, which is doing the growing, looking at yourself in the mirror of like, who am I? Like, really who am I? What's my purpose? Like, if I had to explain who I am to somebody, like your greatest traits, it's not gonna be your greatest traits aren't gonna be your car and the money you make. What is it inside of you? Like, what were you given as a gift that is just like truly authentic to you? Go off of that, start learning off of that, show up authentic. Whether that is you being, I don't know, a sporadic mess that day. Okay, be a sporadic mess that day. That is human, and being human is beautiful. So that's what I have to tell you today. Be true to yourself and always, always. All right, love you all. Join me for some more episodes at another time. All right, you guys, that's a wrap on this one, but the conversation doesn't end here.
